Skytec Group aquired exclusive long term license agreement to use the trusted Blaupunkt brand in Europe. Production line of Blaupunkt TVs was arranged on the factory site in Slovakia along with private brands.

Sharp Corporation and UMC (100% share of Skytec Group) have entered into a binding agreement related to transfer of SHARP's audio and video business in Europe.
UMC got exclusive brand license rights for TV and audio business in Europe. UMC acquired 100% shares in Sharp Manufacturing Poland Sp. zo.o. (SMPL), Sharp's manufacturing base in Poland for LCD televisions, from Sharp.

Sharp Corporation acquired a majority 56.7 % stake in Skytec UMC Ltd. (previusly100% Skytec Group subsidiary). The result is the establishment of a new subsidiary with the objective to promote the manufacturing and sale of Sharp branded audiovisual products in Europe. The two companies will combine their competences to create a powerful electronics business under the well-known Sharp brand.

56,7% of Skytec UMC aquired by SHARP

In Ostaszewo, near Torun, a European Logistics Centre was constructed. Located in Pomeranian Special Economic Zone (PSEZ) near UMC factory the Logistic Centre is 30 000 square metres including the maneuvering areas. 20 000 square metres is taken by the warehouse area with a small office space and a rest and refreshment facilities. The warehouse is of a high-stack type, up to 5 levels for storage. It meets all current fire requirements as well as requirements for employers who are creating new workplaces. It consists of 5 independently functioning parts, which allow it to be used for commercial purposes.

Logistic centre opening in Poland

Sharp Corporation acquired 100 % stake in Skytec UMC Ltd. (former 100% Skytec Group subsidiary). Company's operation will be performed by Sharp Corporation management.
